TRAINER: PATRICIA BALTAZAR

Holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting Mandarin/Portuguese – Portuguese/Mandarin from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, with part of her studies completed at Beijing Language and Culture University and the Polytechnic of Macau. She has professional experience in spoken and written Mandarin with people from different cultural backgrounds, including at the Portuguese Embassy in Beijing, as a marketing manager focused on the Chinese market and as a logistics manager. She was also invited to teach Mandarin at a private school, where she gained first-hand experience in language teaching. She is a certified trainer (CRIAP, 2025), with an Advanced Specialisation in Training Management and Organisation (CRIAP, 2026).

The course strengthens transferable human skills: curiosity, independence, confidence in communication and openness to other cultures.

The goal is practical communication while travelling, not fluency. To achieve this, the sessions combine dialogues and simulations based on real travel situations; pronunciation and tone practice; listening comprehension exercises; an introduction to a limited number of characters frequently seen while travelling; and interactive exercises.
